Beneath the Nón Lá; the British Vietnamese

Beneath the Nón Lá; the British Vietnamese is a multimedia project by RB Media in partnership with Vietnamese Family Partnership (VFP) which compliments their ‘Untold Stories’ project of the same name.

The aim of the project is to shine a light on the vibrant vietnamese community in the UK - a community that remains largely hidden and unseen despite its unique cultural roots and rich contribution to British Society.

In doing so it is hoped to raise awareness, funding and support for the VFP Sculpture Project, ‘This Space-As a Home’, which will be the first Vietnamese cultural heritage monument in a UK public space.

Media for the project is produced by Rupert Bedford and includes a short documentary film together with multimedia story, profiles, interviews and other media.

The project is supported by grant funding.

Rupert is a UK based solicitor, journalist and multimedia producer who has Vietnamese extended family through his son who lives in North Central Vietnam. He has previously worked with Blue Dragon Children’s Foundation in Vietnam and his work includes the multimedia stories More than just a game and Dragon Law as well as Seven Days in June.
