Birthday Kayak…

Looking towards my local cove, Spekes Mill Mouth. Looks like a spooky ‘grey’ day - blame it on the misty Aquapac protector for my phone - again.

The only thing ‘puffing’ this morning, was me. Looking forward to the car park opening on Friday

Today I treated myself to a birthday Kayak and launched from Hartland Quay. An interesting exercise as the car park remains closed so I needed to park at the top of the hill which made for an interesting climb on the return journey. It is pretty unusual for the seas around here to be so silky smooth. I headed over to Spekes Mill Mouth, which is my nearest cove and then back towards Hartland Point. It was a rather ‘grey’ morning but the water was incredibly clear. On my return to the Quay, I passed some people who asked me if I’d enjoyed seeing the Seal that had been following me for the last 10-15 mins. What? How had I missed it. No idea. I started to recall that I had heard some splashes behind the boat but every time I looked around there was nothing there. He was playing me. Or more likely my wildlife observation skills need some serious attention.
